Thank you for ANY donation to our community and signature projects. We love supporting our community of women and girls! Signature Projects (see more details under the "What We Do" tab): Soroptimist Live Your Dream $1,000 Award-The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Award (formerly the Women’s Opportunity Award) assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.  They must be enrolled in an undergraduate program or trade school. Many recipients are survivors of domestic violence, trafficking or sexual assault and all have overcome enormous obstacles. SI San Bernardino $1,000 High School Scholarship Program-We partner with the San Bernardino High School Scholarship Program to provide a scholarship to a graduating senior girl from one of the local high schools who shows strength in community service and will continue her education by attending a community college or university.SI San Bernardino Student Musical Instrument Award-We coordinate with a local middle school to honor an 8th female music student with the purchase of an instrument she couldn’t afford herself while aiming to continue her education and advance her music skills. The music director chooses a female student that currently borrows an instrument from the school. We also partner and coordinate with a local music store to give us a discount on the instrument. WINGS (Women Inspiring and Nurturing Girls to Succeed)-Our WINGS event guides young women (ages 14-19) toward the skills needed and tangible strategies to accomplish their career goals.  Although all girls face barriers because of their gender, we prioritize working with girls who have additional obstacles including poverty, unstable home lives, living in foster care, or teen motherhood. Soroptimist clubs work in partnership with girls in small groups or a conference setting to provide them with the information and resources they want and need to be successful. Current community services we are supporting this year:  Open Door - Family Assistance Program providing case management and support to victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation.
